Happy New Year to all of you and I, along with the rest of the Committee, hope that 2024 has got off to a positive start for you all.
Hot off the presses we have the first, Class 37 specific, dates for your new 2024 diaries. Working off the back of the incredibly successful 2023 ‘Double-Up Sunday’ running days, you will be glad to hear that there will be two Sundays in 2024 that involve our amazing locomotives – that’s right, two separate Sundays to enjoy 84 miles of twin EE V12 noise. Hopefully we will follow on from 2023 and see a good number of you there! The dates are:
** Sunday 11th August
** Sunday 29 September

On the loco front, both locos ran on the ‘Mince Pie Specials’ for the last two days of December and the first of January 2024 and were stood down from service on the 2nd of Jan for winter maintenance to start. This will take in the B Examinations for both along with some minor attention. Both should be in fine fettle for the start of the 2024 season in March.
