Firstly, as you may have seen in the new issue of ‘The Growler’ magazine, Saturday 16th March sees the 37th Annual General Meeting of the group taking place at the Tim Mitchell Building, Winchcombe at 11am. All Growler Group members are welcome, although remember to bring your membership details with you. Do remember that this is your chance to come and have a say in how the charity is run and, if you want to be more involved, you can potentially put yourself forwards to join the Committee. Not only will there be discussion on Group focus for 2024 but also the elections for the Board.
We also have a new shop and membership area that is now live. This has been developed by Phil Seymour, in conjunction with Dave Redbourne, and replaces the old version which is no longer accessible. Hopefully a new link will be put on the website shortly, however the link is here ===> https://thegrowlergroup.square.site/s/shop
On the fleet side, both locos should be ready for the new 2024 season and are currently having their B Exams completed. 37215 was taken out of service during the ‘Mince Pie Specials’ in December after hitting something that had been placed on the line. D6948 took over the final two days’ running while 37215 was given a thorough once over. Luckily, there was no damage to the loco.
One of the locos will be out on Tuesday 26 March and Wednesday 27 March on the Orange timetable (loco TBC – last round trip to/from Toddington) kicking off the mainline diesel running for the new season.
