Services at the GWSR are now on the slow-down towards the end of year and our November/Winter shutdown periods. Hellfire TV have confirmed the release, and the details for ordering of, the film of our triumphant 60th Anniversary bash for 37215 and D6948 that took place on Friday 16th August 2024. Hellfire TV were invited by the Committee to record the day and to create a celebratory film for future sale. The film, available to all, is 56 minutes duration and is now available for those who attended to relive the day or, for those who couldn’t attend, to enjoy for the first time. click to continue reading
The running dates for September are now up in the ‘Roster’ area of the website. Our locos will see six days of running in the month ending with the final ‘Double Up Sunday’ of 2024 on Sunday 29th September. Remember, September is the final month of extensive normal running at the GWSR with only a few days and the Mixed Traffic Gala in October where you can sample our fine locomotives. click to continue reading
Sunday 11th August kicked off the 60th Celebration week for both our locomotives in fine style with a ‘Double Up Sunday’ running day. The weather was fine and both 37215 and D6948 were in fine form for the large number of public that turned up. click to continue reading
