With the Gala now becoming a memory (and, to be fair, what a memory!) our locos are now back to normal workings. D6948 has kicked things off in August and will be the motive power for all Class 37 outings during the month – except for our ‘Double Up Sunday’ on Sunday 31 August when both locos will be out on the regular PINK TIMETABLE.
D6948 also has some extra days of running to cover for ‘Peak’ 45149 which has been removed from traffic due to an electrical fault that requires diagnosis and repair. The extra dates will be (and have been added to the Roster page:
- Sat 9 August – RED TIMETABLE
- Thur 14 August – GREEN TIMETABLE
- Sat 16 August – RED TIMETABLE
The September roster has also been released and will see both locos share the rostered mileage across the month. Click on the ‘Rosters’ tab above to see details of all the workings. One to look out for is on Saturday 20th September when D6948 will be working with BR Modified Hall, 7903 ‘Foremark Hall’ on some trips in both double-headed and top-and-tail formations.
D6948 will also be leaving the GWSR during September to head up the M5 to Kidderminster and our friends at the Severn Valley Railway. D6948 will be attending the SVRs ’37s at 65′ event alongside a number of its classmates and will also be utilised on a couple of extra turns whilst there. The Growler Group will have a sales stand at Kidderminster during the event where we aim to have a stock of brand new branded merchandise.
