In addition to the news in the pinned post above, 37215 is rostered to kick things off for the mainline diesel fleet for 2024 and is due to run at the end of March and into April. The specific dates are in the ‘Loco Roster’ section of the website. This includes the first Sunday ‘PINK‘ timetable day on Sunday 07th April 2024.
Elsewhere, on Thursday 21st March, 37215 became the first locomotive (after a visiting Tamper) to pass over the newly restored deck of Stanway Viaduct after its winter repairs.
Having proved the route, ‘215’ collected a number of wagons containing spoil from the building works that are continuing on Platform 2 at Broadway. ‘215’ was fresh from its winter maintenance where it successfully passed its B Exam. The loco also had a number of small repairs completed as well as having temperature strips added to the bogies to keep an eye on the bearing temperatures.
