We are now a couple of days out from the 2023 Diesel Gala and both 37215 and D6948 were in extensive operation on all three days, seeing well-loaded trains and running without issues. Initial indications are that this years’ was a very successful Gala given that it was a lower key affair after the excesses of last year with the stay of 55019 ‘Royal Highland Fusilier’.
The roster page has been updated with July and August running (apologies it was a little late for early July running). Both locos will be in action during both months, although some days are still to be decided as to which loco will be used and this will be allocated closer to the respective dates.
Sunday 6th August will see the second ‘Double-Up Sunday’ event with both locos being paired up for the day with 84 miles of twin tractor enjoyment on offer through the Cotswolds. Tickets are available at www.gwsr.com. One event not to miss!!
