We are now a couple of days out from the 2023 Diesel Gala and both 37215 and D6948 were in extensive operation on all three days, seeing well-loaded trains and running without issues. The 25th September 2023 brings a big anniversary for 37215 – 25 Years in active preservation! Bought from BR in 1994 and transported down from Inverness TMD, where it had been taken for component recovery, 37215 would move under its own power for the first time in preservation at Toddington on 5th July 1998, but it wouldn’t be until the 25th September before ‘215‘ would work its first service on the GWSR. click to continue reading
