This Friday, 21st August, the Growler Group celebrates it’s 40th birthday with a running day at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Three round trips behind the groups’ locos, 37215 and D6948. Preparations are in their final throes on what should be an excellent day to meet old friends and new whilst enjoying what we pay our memberships for – the upkeep and maintenance of two of the finest examples of the finest class of locomotive ever built for British Rail! Okay, we may be a bit biased in that!

If you are not a member of the group you are still more than welcome to join us and enjoy the sights and sounds of the class through the Cotswolds but, what a perfect opportunity to join up and help us continue to maintain and operate these two fine locomotives. See the flyers above for ticketing details (GWSR tickets and passes will not be excepted)
An added extra!
As an added extra, because of the ongoing steam ban due to the hot weather, Wednesday, 19 August will see both locos running the LIME GREEN timetable. Take your pick of either 37215 or D6948 or a mix of both as they cover 84 miles each over the day. 37215 will be on Train 1, first departure from Cheltenham at 1015; D6948 will be on Train 2, first departure from Toddington to Broadway at 0940.
D6948 will also be out on Thursday, 20 August on Train 2 of the same timetable.
