After several months of labour to replace worn liner seals, amongst other work, D6948 returned to action (albeit on test) on Wednesday 1 July 2026 joining sister, 37215 on the rostered RED timetable trip. As you may recall, our ‘Green Machine’ D6948 has been out of traffic since the Xmas period after it was found to have moisture in the oil samples we sent away at the end of 2025. This was caused by a failed liner seal. click to continue reading
How can we nearly be 6 months into the year already? Frightening, but June sees the GWsR timetable start to build to the high point of the season and an increase in diesel running. After not being rostered throughout April, giving other locos the opportunity to build up the post-Winter miles, with D6948 still out of traffic, 37215 will see 6 days of use throughout the month which will include our Ale and Cider Festival over the 12 – 14 June. Saturday 21 March 2026 saw the groups’ Annual General Meeting convene at Winchcombe on the GWR.
