We, as a group, have been sat on this news for some time but we can now finally announce that D6948<\/strong> will be off on its travels in October as it heads to our friends at the Severn Valley Railway to appear at their ’65 Years of Class 37′ Autumn Diesel Event. The event is, as the SVR do, likely to be huge and takes place over the 2 – 5 October 2025<\/em><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As D6948<\/strong> is the first visitor to be announced, further information is a little thin on the ground however all the latest up to date information and ticketing can be found here – https:\/\/svr.co.uk\/event\/65-years-of-class37\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be the first trip away from the GWSR for D6948<\/strong> since 2019 when the loco headed to the West Somerset Railway for their Diesel Gala and an extended holiday. Our Sales Stand will also be heading to Kidderminster with the loco and should have pride of place on the concourse at Kidderminster for all four days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this in mind, we are looking at increasing the numbers of the small band of volunteers who look after the Sales Stand at GWSR and outside events. No experience is necessary, just a passion for Class 37s and a willingness to help out when you can, however you will need to be a Growler Group member in order to help.
