{"id":1259,"date":"2018-03-23T10:02:55","date_gmt":"2018-03-23T10:02:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thegrowlergroup.org.uk\/?p=1259"},"modified":"2018-03-23T10:06:10","modified_gmt":"2018-03-23T10:06:10","slug":"d6948-works-the-first-diesel-hauled-train-to-broadway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thegrowlergroup.org.uk\/?p=1259","title":{"rendered":"D6948 works the first diesel-hauled train to Broadway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wednesday 21st March was a memorable day for the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway when the \u00a0first passenger carrying trains were operated to the newly opened Broadway station. 4 special trains were run from Winchcombe and Toddington and along the new extension to Broadway, the 10:00, 12:00 and 14:00 departures from Toddington being steam hauled and the 16:00 diesel hauled by D6948, chosen because of its steam heat capability.
